CPL 2015 6th Match Preview
Five matches of CPL 2015 have been concluded and nothing exciting has been witnessed yet. All the five clashes saw one sided matches with single team dominating the whole match throughout the course of 40 overs. Anyways, we have match 6 coming up today which is scheduled to be played between St Lucia Zouks and Guyana Amazon Warriors at Beausejour Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia.
Two side who look to dominate the tourament early with few good wins under their belt. St Lucia Zouks, who have played two games till now, one of those was a wash out against Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel, while they registered a supreme victory in their second encounter against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, beating them by 7 wickets. On the other hand, Guyana Amazon Warriors have played just the one game which wasn’t a game they would like to remember. Barbados Tridents thrashed them by 49 runs in that game which certainly exposed their brittle batting line up. They would like to forget the previous loss and rise up today against the Zouks.
Guyana Amazon Warriors looks a pretty decent side on papers with the likes of Lendl Simmons and T. Dilshan as their openers. Following at number 3 is the dependable Shivnararine Chanderpaul who didn’t look so in the previous game and scored just 4 runs before he was dismissed by Jason Holder. The middle order comprises of their captain and West Indian wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Ramdin and experienced Brad Hodge. This batting line up looks nice to trouble the opposition bowlers but they aren’t in good form to do so.
Talking about their bowling front, they have South African pacer Marchant de Lange, Veerasammy Permaul, Ronsford Beaton and the West Indian magician Sunil Narine. It looks a complete bowling unit having the ability to bowl the opposition out within the quota of 20 overs. Permaul and Narine were the stars with the ball in the previous they played, each with the economy of around 5 runs per over and marked one and two wickets against their names respectively. Beaton was also fine in his 4 overs giving away 27 runs.
The team management and players would be hoping to keep the ball in their court at every stage of the upcoming clash today against a good in-form batting of Zouks.
St Lucia Zouks had terrific games so far in CPL 2015, both the games showed their batting power and how lethal they can be. Although, their first game was a wash out but their batting showed class and power posting a total of 179 runs with the loss of 6 wickets for the TTR boys. Second match also went in their favour as they defeated St Kitts and Nevis Patriots by 7 wickets scoring 150 runs with the loss of 3 wickets in just 15.4 overs. This clearly indicates their power in batting and the bowling ability to restrict opposition to a normal score of 149. The inclusion of Ross Taylor in their side is a great boost for them as he is in tremendous touch witnessed recently in England. It would take some bowling from Warriors to outclass the Zouks’s batsmen in today’s clash, who are currently in form of their lives.
Hope to get a thrilling contest today with world class players fighting to stay on top.
