3rd ODI Cricket Match Prediction 2015

India vs South Africa 3rd ODI Preview

After clinching a 22-run margin victory over the Proteas, Captain cool, MS Dhoni and his troop would be gearing themselves for the third ODI of the miraculous series between India and South Africa. The third ODI is scheduled to be played at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.

After being thwarted in the T20 series and the first ODI, Indian team finally managed to secure a win in the series in the second ODI. Although, the win wasn’t prodigious, but somewhat acceptable as far as bowling is concerned.

The batting department was down and dusted at one stage for India. They were 6 down for just 124 runs but managed to post a respectable total of 247 on the board, all thanks to the captain’s knock of unbeaten 92 off 86 balls who received an overwhelming support from the tail-enders.

The credit for the win goes to the Indian bowlers, who bowled in right areas and chipped away wickets at regular intervals and the fielders, who supported the bowlers with great enthusiasm and zeal. Virat Kohli was the star in the field, especially at covers where he grabbed three vital catches to dismiss Faf du Plessis, AB de Villiers and Dale Steyn.

South Africans would be cursing themselves for the loss on Wednesday, as they were cruising towards the victory at one stage and suddenly were shattered down on a losing side. Careless shots from Faf, AB de Villiers and Duminy were the cause for their defeat. The state of the game didn’t demand expansive play; instead sensible batting of singles and doubles would have done wonders for them.

Coming on to the third ODI, Team India will have to tighten up their screws on both the departments batting as well as bowling. On the other hand, South Africa looks a balanced side and good enough to outclass the Indians on any day unless something drastic comes from their end.

Both the teams would be worried about their middle order, which is yet to click in this bilateral series. David Miller, AB de Villiers and Farhan Behardein need to step up for SA playing sensible cricket as per the situation of the game. On the other side, Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina were the culprits in previous two matches giving away their wickets. They’ll look to rectify the errors made in the earlier games and put up a great show in the upcoming encounter.

India vs South Africa 3rd ODI Pitch Report

The players will be taking the 11-yards at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot on Sunday, which is considered to be a belter of a track. But it certainly has some spice to keep the bowlers interested, Ravindra Jadeja’s recent spells in Ranji encounters are perfect instances of the same, (6-27 and 5-45 against Tripura) & (6-71 and 7-55 against Jharkhand). Expect a high scoring game with spinners spreading their charm later with the likes of Axar Patel and Harbhajan Singh for India and Imran Tahir for South Africa.
