IPL 8 Match 53 Preview
IPL Prediction for CSK vs KXIP Match
CSK look to take top spot
Match No 53: KXIP v CSK
Date and Venue: 16th May 2015, Punjab
Head to Head: Played 15 CSK 9 KXIP 5 NR 1
The first time these two played this season it was chaos for the Punjabi boys as they conceded 192 runs while fielding first at Chennai and then managed to score 95 runs in the 20 overs for the loss of nine wickets.
Chennai Super Kings has done what they are known to do the best. Playing a team without too many changes, every player contributing in the win and perfect execution of plans. They have been doing this year after year and is the most consistent team of the IPL.
However, after having a brilliant start in the tournament they have hit a bump. Their batting has been out of sorts in the second half of the tournament and the matches they have managed to win in the second half have been due to their bowling. With McCullum due to leave at the top of the order they have a pretty hefty problem to deal with.
The middle order has not been able to fire for literally whole of the tournament now. Suresh Raina has just two half centuries till now in the tournament and in the rest has looked jaded. MS Dhoni too has not got his big hitting ability with him. Ravindra Jadeja has not been in best of the form since he has returned from injury.
Kings XI Punjab’s season saw a bit of colour as they defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore in a rain curtailed match at Mohali. In a ten over game they started off positively as Saha opened along with Vohra and made 31 off 11 balls to give them a perfect start. However, once he fell it was difficult to gather momentum but still managed to end up with 106 runs.
Their bowling did well against the likes of Gayle, Kohli and AB De Villiers as they managed to tie them down in a run chase of 10 an over in ten overs was a remarkable job by their bowlers. They would look to improve their performance with the bat.
