IPL 8 Final CSK vs MI Preview
IPL Final Prediction CSK vs MI
One Last Cheer This Season
Date and Venue: 24th May 2015, Kolkata
Battle to be the best has begun, it’s Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians in the finals of IPL 2015, to fight it out in the middle of 22 yards for the beautiful IPL trophy in Kolkata. At the start of the tournament the way MI started off, nobody expected them to be a part of Finals but they came back pretty strong after those early defeats and made a strong statement for rest of the teams of the IPL.
Chennai Super Kings on the other hand was at the top of the points table after league stage but being defeated by MI in the qualifier, they have to regain the momentum and had to defeat RCB in the eliminator 2 which they did quite comfortably at the end.
Batting looks a bit of worry for captain Dhoni and co, their middle order, Suresh Raina, has had a disappointing IPL so far as he has managed two fifties and no substantial scores after that. MS Dhoni and Faf Du Plessis looked on the cusp of their form but the runs they are gathering have not been enough. Dwayne Bravo has not been used enough in the batting and Pawan Negi has been preferred over him. While another left hand all rounder has disappointed and it will be safe to say Dhoni has lost confidence Ravindra Jadeja as a batsman.
Bowling has been terrific for the men in yellow, Nehra being the hero for them throughout the tournament. They have managed to defend three to four games which no other team has done. Reaching finals has become a habit for CSK, they have entered IPL finals 5 times out of 7 before this and this is their 6th time.
Mumbai Indians has stunned one and all by repeating the comeback after four straight defeats earlier in the tournament. This time they have bettered their comeback than last year as they are in top two this time around. But it will be fair to say that they got assistance from the teams at the top as they did play bad cricket in the second half.
Like Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians too have been reliant on their bowlers to slate their comeback into the tournament. But it was not Malinga but Mitchell McCleneghan and Harbhajan Singh who have been phenomenal throughout the league.
But when it comes to big pressure games like this, there is no better captain than MS Dhoni. He knows how to handle such situations and take his team over the line.
MI could also benefit from the world class captain in the likes of Ricky Ponting who had been splendid over the years for Australia. His experience and motivation skills could certainly help the current MI captain along with the whole team.
It’s Sunday night and you could expect a cracker of a contest between the two most loved sides of the tournament especially with big names involved in the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Rohit Sharma, Pollard, Harbhajan Singh, MS Dhoni, Mike Hussey, Suresh Raina and more. Lets see who wins the battle and register themselves as IPL8 winners.
