IPL 8 CSK vs RCB Qualifier-2 Preview
IPL Prediction CSK vs RCB
The qualifier 2 is here and it is between the IPL’s most consistent team, CSK, and the IPL’s underachiever, RCB. These two have faced each other two times this IPL and CSK bettered RCB on both the occasions.
The first match played was at Bangalore, surprisingly it was a full 20 over match, in which RCB restricted CSK to 181 after it seemed they will chase a lot more than that. However, it still proved too much for the home side. In a bizarre tactic RCB dropped Gayle for the match and brought in Nic Maddinson. The experiment did not work and lasted for one game. After a decent start with the bat RCB were not able to capitalise and were completely out of it once AB De Villiers was run out.
In the second match between these two teams played at Chennai RCB again managed to halt the progress of CSK and this time to a much lower score of 148 runs on a pitch which was turning square. When AB De Villiers and Virat Kohli were at the crease it looked comfortable for the visitors. However, they lost their way after the dismissal of ABD and eventually lost the match by 24 runs.
If we take a look at the scorecards for both the games the Chennai Super Kings’ shortcomings in this IPL is clearly highlighted. Even after a substantial score from top three they are not able to build on that thus a series of below par scores.
The bowling has been saved by the spinners since the pitches in some parts of India have dried up. Their seamers have lost the charm they had in the start of the tournament especially Ashish Nehra and it will not be a surprise if he struggles against a batting heavy RCB.
Royal Challengers Bangalore’s fortunes have changes since they have tinkered their batting order and let their top three batsmen take the respective batting positions. There were apprehensions about their batting if the top three falters. The fear is allayed by the young Mandeep Singh who played a match winning knock against Rajasthan in the eliminator.
Along with AB De Villiers he took RCB out of a crumbly position of 46-2 in the ninth over. He not only held the innings together but played aggressive cricket at the start to give ABD time to settle and once the latter settled in he made sure ABD takes strike to capitalise.
Bowling was shepherded by Harshal Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal and Sreenath Arvind. The three youngster made the task difficult for the RR batsmen with the pace and bounce they extracted from the pitch.
However, still the biggest concern for them is what if the top three fails for them as the number five and six positions are still untested.

The match is to be played at JSCA stadium in Ranchi and this will be first one here this season and a mammoth one too.
