IPL Prediction for KX1P vs MI match
Punjab Power Batting up Against Mighty Mumbai
Match No. 7 >> KX1P vs MI
Date and Venue >> 12th April 2015 and Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai
Head to head >> Total- 14 KX1P-7 MI-7
The seventh clash of the tournament is round the corner where mighty Mumbai Indians takes on fearless Kings X1 Punjab. Both the teams are through with their first encounter of IPL 2015 facing a defeat each. Mumbai Indians were outclassed by the performance of Kolkata Knight Riders at their home ground by 7 wickets win whereas Kings X1 Punjab couldn’t handle the crisp bowling attack of Rajasthan Royals, Sehwag edging the first ball of the innings to wicket keeper, Sanju Samson falling short of the total by 26 runs. Both the units look to get their first win of the season at Wankhede Stadium on Sunday evening. Certainly it would be cracker of a contest with the best of batsmen going out on one of the best batting strip in India with the likes of Virender Sehwag, Glenn Maxwell, David Miller, Rohit Sharma, Aaron Finch, Kieron Pollard, Corey Anderson.
Taking a look on the teams, Mumbai Indians have positives from their past defeat against KKR with their captain scoring 98 runs off 65 balls, Corey Anderson also looked comfortable for his 55 off just 41 balls. Bowling looked a bit low with Anderson, Bumrah, Ojha conceding more than 10 runs per over in their spells. Harbhajan also went for plenty gave away 38 runs in his quota of 4 overs. Bowling unit with the likes of Malinga, Anderson, Bumrah, Vinay Kumar, Harbhajan Singh and Pragyan Ojha need to plan a way out to contain KX1P batsmen else it would be game over for them well before 20 overs. Other domestic players in the side, Tare and Rayudu need to rise to the occasion providing stability to the middle order. A lot is expected from the big man as well, Pollard hopefully he gets a chance this time at a batting paradise and you can expect some mighty hits sailing over the ground.
On the other hand, Kings X1 Punjab needs to shuffle their batting order and bring the big guys to face maximum number of balls. Bailey coming at number 7 is not a good sign. Axar Patel was preferred against the likes of David Miller and George Bailey which proved costly to them at the end. Bailey admitted their mistakes at the presentation and we can expect it to be rectified in today’s game. Virender Sehwag is crucial at the top and need to fire for them, Vijay looked pretty good in the last match before he committed suicidal run out. A lot of is expected from M’s, Maxwell and Miller in IPL 2015 and hopefully this time they can find some momentum on a batting friendly pitch at Wankhede. We all know the power and class they both possess, having the capability to destroy any bowling attack in the world. On the bowling front, Mitchell Johnson is their front line bowler who also took some beating from his fellow mate, Faulkner in the last match against Rajasthan Royals. While Indian pacers, Sandeep Sharma and Anureet Singh, bowled supreme spells gave away just 42 runs combined in 8 overs. Anureet singh took 3 wickets giving away 23 runs in his 4 and Sandeep contributed to his side by chipping away one wicket for 19 runs. Karanveer Singh, leggy was too expensive with an economy of 10.75. You can expect a change in their bowling department with Rishi Dhawan taking place instead of Karanveer Singh.
Mumbai Indians would be going in with unchanged side from the previous game.
MI Probabe X1: Aaron Finch, Rohit Sharma Aditya Tare, Ambati Rayudu, Corey Anderson, Kieron Pollard, Harbhajan Singh, R Vinay Kumar, Pragyan Ojha, Jasprit Bumrah, Lasith Malinga
Rishi Dhawan is expected to take over Karanveer Singh’s place rest being the same.
KX1P Probable X1: Virender Sehwag, Murali Vijay, Wriddhiman Saha, Glenn Maxwell, David Miller, George Bailey, Akshar Patel, Mitchell Johnson, Rishi Dhawan, Anureet Singh, Sandeep Sharma
Mumbai has always been a batting paradise and this time it would be no different. It can assist spinners a bit but all eyes would be on batsmen. You can certainly expect raining sixes at this venue with power hitters like Pollard, Sehwag, Maxwell, Miller, Rohit and Anderson.
Punjab is 1.82 to win the match today and with the batting power they have with the likes of Maxwell, Miller, Sehwag on a batting paradise of Wankhede we are backing them to win today’s encounter.
