The blockbuster encounter is here with Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore facing off on a run fest ground in Bangalore.

It is in real sense the clash pf the titans between these two if we look at their owners and players. Everything involving these two teams is exciting to watch.

However, Royal Challengers Bangalore has not played to their potential, batting wise, till now. Having lost two out of three games they played it is safe to assume that they are still not at their best. Main concern for them is is the form of Chris Gayle at the top of the order. Apart from his modus operandi has changed as he has been cautious at the start. And if he gets out after consuming the balls the pressure gets on the team.

RCB found themselves in a similar situation against Mumbai Indians where they were chasing a score of 210 and Gayle after playing 24 balls for his 10 runs got out to Harbhajan Singh. After that even the stellar effort by AB devilliers and David Wiese could not bring RCB closer to the target.

Virat Kohli’s form has not been encouraging and as a result they have lacked a batsman around whom others can bat. In their win against Kolkata Knight Riders Gayle performed that role but after that none of the batsmen has looked to stay on the crease. Their new buy, Dinesh Karthik, too has not impressed with his batting. Trusted with number four position in the batting order he has not looked in touch at all. Having played decently in his last season he was bought in the auctions to bring stability in the middle order.

For the last match against MI they made as many as four changes in the playing XI. Virat Kohli was played at his preferred position, number three, as Manvinder Bisla was drafted in the side.

Darren Sammy too was left out and David Wiese was given an opportunity and he grabbed it picking up four wickets and scoring 47 off 25 balls. Though RCB lost the match but the balance seemed good.

Chennai Super Kings as always had a good start to the tournament winning three consecutive matches. After a jittery start against DD they bounced back to win the games against SRH and MI with the flair they are known for. In the game against MI they chased a total of 184 inside 17 overs as everyone contributed with the bat.

However in their last match against Rajasthan Royals they were unable to kick off in the later of the innings managing 156 runs with the loss of four wickets. MS Dhoni played a strange innings of 31 off 37 balls not out. They were tromped easily by eight wickets.

In the bowling department a revamped Ashish Nehra has been an inspiration. Whether bowling up front or bowling at the death he has excelled in every role. However in the spin department they will be concerned about the bowling form of Ravindra Jadeja as he has been leaking runs and nothing to show for in the wickets column. Ravichandran Ashwin has been impressive so far bowling slower and extracting turn off the track.

Team News for RCB vs CSK

Big news and relief for RCB is the return of te world cup hero, Mitchell Starc. They have missed him would be an understatement. With David Wisse gaving a good game Rillee Roussouw is expected to make way for Starc. Apart from that rest of the side is expected to be the same.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (Probable XI): 1. Chris Gayle 2. Manvinder Bisla 3. Virat Kohli 4. Dinesh Karthik 5. AB Devillers 6. David Wisse 7. Iqbal Abdullah 8. Mitchell Starc 9. Abu Nechim 10. Yuzvendra Chahal 11. Varun Aaron

Chennai Super Kings has always been a consistent side and does not like to change much. They are expected to field the same XI.

Chennai Super Kings (Probable XI): 1. Brendon McCullum 2. Dwayne Smith 3. Suresh Raina 4. Faf Du Plessis 5. Dwayne Bravo 6. MS Dhoni 7. Ravindra Jadeja 8. Ravichandran Ashwin 9. Mohit Sharma 10. Ishwar Pandey 11. Ashish Nehra

The Pitch report for RCB vs CSK match

Match is to be played at Chinnaswamy stadium at Bangalore. As we already know that it is ground where runs are scored in plenty. Till now two matches have been played this season which saw scores of 166 and 209. Interestingly Bangalore lost both the matches in the first one defending and in the second one chasing.

RCB vs CSK Odds and Prediction

Chennai Super Kings is 1.70 to win the match and purely on the basis of their team balance. But their bowling is a bit weak for the run fortress that is Bangalore. But so is Bangalore’s bowling if we take Starc apart.

In all both teams are batting heavy and we are backing CSK to come out on top.
