IPL Prediction for RCB vs MI Match
Battle of the Bottom Two
Match No 16: RCB v MI
Date and Venue: 19th April 2015, M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru
Head to Head: Played 15 RCB 7 MI 8
Game 16 of the IPL season is scheduled to be played at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru today between the two teams who haven’t looked in good touch so far. Mumbai Indians, Champions of 2013 lies at the bottom of the points table after losing four out of four games. While Royal Challengers Bangalore have managed a win out of their two matches, loss against Sunrisers Hyderabad and win against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Mumbai Indians haven’t had a good time in recent matches and problems exist in all three departments for them at the moment. Everything looks bleak for MI whether its team combination, batting order or bowling. Even after posting a mammoth total of 183 courtesy Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard, they were outclassed by the brilliance of CSK openers, Brendon McCullum and Dwayne Smith who helped them to chase down this target in just 16.4 overs. Bowlers went for plenty, Malinga finished with economy of 10.0 in his 4 overs, Harbhajan with 11.0, Suchith with 16.0 and Vinay Kumar with 9.
Front line bowlers aren’t performing for them making life and chances to go further in this tournament difficult. They need to pull up their socks quickly else it would be all over for them pretty quickly in IPL 8. A lot of things need to be fixed before they take the field today against the most destructive batting line-up.
After all the disappointment performances they still have something to cheer about and take it as motivation to rise in future clashes that is the form of their captain Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard who have helped the team to reach a well first innings totals despite of poor starts.
Royal Challengers on the other hand have played just two games registering a win in one and suffered a loss in the other. They lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad at home despite posting a total of 166 runs signalling weakness in their bowling department. Although, batting has enough fire power to take the game away from any opposition in the tournament but bowling is what they need to worry about.

The main strike bowler and Australian front line pacer in ODIs, Mitchell Starc was not a part of the team in these two matches due his unavailability but he is expected to take the field in red shirt for RCB soon which could be a huge boost for them.
Batting isn’t a worry for them with the likes of Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli at the top, then following them is IPL’s second highest buy Dinesh Karthik, South African captain AB de Villiers and Mandeep Singh. Lower middle order includes power hitter in form of Darren Sammy who can blast the bowlers at will.
