IPL 8 Match 41 Preview
IPL Prediction for SRH vs RR Match
Match No 41: SRH vs RR
Date and Venue: 07th May 2015, Mumbai
Head to Head: Played 6 RR 4 SRH 2
We are into the business end of the tournament and any losses here for mid placed teams could be hefty for the team. Next match is between the Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad and for the latter this game is very important.
The last time these two teams played against each other Rajasthan came out on top at Vizag. On a slow pitch SRH managed to put up just 127 runs which was achieved easliy by Rajasthan with six wickets to spare.
After a poor spell in the tournament for Rajasthan they are back to the winnings ways. Their batting pillar this season, Ajinkya Rahne, scored a brilliant 91 to give RR a good score of 189. Apart from Rahane it heartening to watch Karun Nair get runs at number three position. He got 61 runs off 38 balls.
In the bowling department they were reckless at times but bowled an impeccable line up front with the ball swinging. Shane Watson got the ball to move away from right hand batsman and an in form Shane Watson as a bowler will be a big asset for RR. Big relief for them was the figures of James Faulkner who came back after being dropped in the previous match. He bowled his 4 overs for 22 runs taking 2 wickets in the process. However the rest of the bowlers failed to impress.
Sunrisers on the other hand were crippled by a similar problem. Having performed so well against Chennai Super Kings on the back of a valiant effort by David Warner, they were back to the losing ways once Warner got out cheaply. Chasing a target of 168 against KKR they were never in contention after losing Warner early. Moises Henriques showed some form but was nearly not enough for them.
The form of Naman Ojha is concern for them and may be it is time to look for other options. Eoin Morgan too has looked horribly out of form and confidence as he has not been able to hit the ball cleanly as he did in previous seasons. They need a strong middle order batsman who could steady the innings once the openers goes. They seem to be lacking a good Indian middle order batsman.
On the bowling front, the see saw battle between picking Boult or Steyn continued as Steyn got a chance after a poor show by Boult. But he was not impressive either as he went for 37 runs in the four overs. Among the bowlers only Moises Henriques was impressive with his figures of 3-0-20-1. Praveen Kumar bowled just one over.
